finally back in singapore!!! reached Singapore at 7am this morning. 12 hour flight, only slept around 1-2 hours! hehe! now very tired. had to unpack, wash up, get the house cleaned again cos gone for 2 weeks! and my little terapin died!! :( :( :( but most of the fishes survived. yay! so, back to posting about the trip.
day 12-London-France(Paris)
so.. as said before, supposed to wake up at 4, but woke up at 4 plus. parents got ready first. went to the reception at 4.50. wanted to use the comp they had there, but they said that internet connection was down for the past 3 days. idk how my dad managed to get internet connection in our room, but he did! so could go online the night before. interesting... any way, it was so early, but by 4, the sun was already up and it was bright! short nights, long days. haha! okay, so took the cab at 5 to king's cross or st pancras station(they call it st pacreas not pancras) and i misheard the cab driver. cos we booked the cab before hand, so when he came, he said 'going to the eurostar?' instead i heard' going to euston' and euston was kind of far away! thought it would be a long ride.thankfully parents heard correctly!! reached st pancras, had breakfast there, waited for the counter to open to get tickets, then went into the waiting room. so we went on the train, euro star, which connects from london to paris, about 3 hours i think. parents and i were a bit seperated. we had a table seat, which means that its 4 people, one table in the middle. sat with a family of 3 Americans. they weren't friendly at all. kept to themselves. there were a lot of Americans in UK. maybe cos they have hols? the british kids have school, so hardly see them. most kids or teenagers there are Americans. like on the Harry Potter tour, half are Americans. parents and i were the only Asians..... sadly. on the train, parents sat across the aisle, with a Malay mum and daughter.
slept in the train, heard music through mp3. towards the end, dad and i went to the middle of the long train, about carriage 9. they sold food there, but we were already reaching, so cannot buy anything. the train was about 19 or so carriages long! very long train.
so when we reached Paris, most things were in French!can't understand a lot of stuff. went on a day group tour first. sat on the bus.... the guide talked and talked on and on about paris, but i was not that interested, so in the end, fell asleep! only woke up when we reached the Eiffel tower. we reached this spot where we could take nice pics of it. and there were many people selling Eiffel tower souvenirs. then went on to go inside the Eiffel tower itself. we reached there about 11 plus, supposed to meet again at 1.40. we could take the lift up, but it was a long queue, so waited, and waited, and waited. until about 12 plus. by the time we were on the second level, it was almost 1. so only had time to take a few pics and eat lunch, before queing to go down. no time to go to the third or first level even though we could! and the person in the lift didn't allow us to go into the first lift! so we had to wait for the lift to go down, then back up. we were late reaching the meeting point! all cos of that lift person! we sat on a boat cruise on this river. there was a lady who explained the history of the surrounding buildings and of the river and so on. she spoke in french, english and italian i think. but got bored of the history and didn't really listen! it was about a 1 hour ride, so bored!!! after that, we went to this museum. 3 hours given to tour the museum! we took 1 hour, plus some time to eat tea! all we saw were paintings. not interested in history of paris nor the museum..... so we left the museum and walked around outside. bought souvenirs. then went back to the bus. took our luggage and took a cab to our hotel. the rest of the tour group was going back to london on a train. the taxi driver had no idea where our hotel was! he seemed to go round and round. but finally reached the hotel. outside looks nice, inside the room, it was kind of cramped.
went to eat JAP food for dinner. asian food... omg... okay, well, the jap restuarant was run by china chinese. so we could communicate with them at least! they were quite nice and the food was okay. went back to the hotel, bathed, watched football(cos of dad) and slept! no internet connection.... sadly.\
